Race, Mentorship, and Change in Music

  • Debates Room Hart House Circle Toronto, ON, M5S Canada (map)

The Hart House Music Committee presents their first ever Coffee House of the year, with special guest, Jasmyn Burke, who is most widely known as the lead singer and songwriter for the Toronto-based band Weaves. Jasmyn will be joined by Ely Lyonblum for an informal and important discussion exploring the experiences of women of colour in the music industry, the importance of mentorship and working with young people, and will also offer steps people can take to get involved in making change in the music industry from the ground.

All are welcome to this event, and we invite your questions and contributions to the conversation!
